Bear Hands at Club Midway - October 20, 2007

Thanks to the Bear Hands for inviting me to this one. I checked them out the last day of CMJ at Club Midway on the strength of their "Long Lean Queen" from their Golden EP (which is available on iTunes, btw).

Tough, edgy post-punk (good lord...these guys must be the same age now as I was when post-punk was big!), great big melodic guitar lines, driving beat. They've only been together since August 2006...they really play off each other, I thought they had been playing together much longer. I'll be keeping an eye (and ear) on them.
